What are we all about?
The Voyageur Club is aimed at young
adults who are interested in outdoor activities, want to gain more experience and take
nationally recognised qualifications. We plan everything ourselves, and we often organise
activities such as canoeing, kayaking, walking, climbing, camping, caving and skiing.
One week in four is given over to a social programme of activities whilst the remaining time
is reserved for Duke of Edinburgh's Gold award expedition training.
|
|
|
The club runs a series of residential opportunities. Remember - it doesnt matter what your level
of experience are - get involved with Voyageurs and you could be helping to pan and choose future
actvities.
|
What does it involve?
Overall, the group is split up into a number of levels which are interlinked:
| Introductory |
..is aimed at 16 year olds, who are in process of finishing off their
Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and would like more challenging outdoor and social activities.
|
| Intermediate |
...aimed at those preparing for their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award with a
chance to experience challenging outdoor and social events. There is plenty of scope to
try new and demanding sports and activities.
|
| Advanced |
...aimed at those aged 19+, who have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh
Award Scheme and may well be in further education. This is an outdoor club where
participants are encouraged to prepare for and take National Body Governing Qualifications.
In addition, this group supports the introductory level, and members have staffing opportunities.
