Thermos Flasks…

In the name of research I would like people to share their favourite ‘on the river’ recipes which can be carried successfully in a thermos flask. I’m thinking fail safe recipes for hot chocolate, a favourite stew, and possibly some strange (but delicious things) you’ve seen, or tried, from a thermos flask.

Voyageurs Gold Exped

Voyageurs Peaks Gold DofEWe had a group of young people from the Voyageurs club undertake a Gold expedition to the Peak District at the start of the summer. The group had planned routes each day of 16.5 to 17k, these routes took them to many of the Peaks famous landmarks including Stanage Edge, Mam Tor and Kinder Scout. The routes provided the groups with some challenges (walking up hill with all your belongings for four days on your back) and some amazing views of the

Daytime sessions

The daytime programme has worked with 155 groups between April and July of this year.

Quality Assurance

The next stage in our accreditation process is to gain ‘Adventure Mark’, this is a Kite Mark for schools approval for learning outside the classroom. I have received a report from Kevin D who visited all the club sessions in late February early March. He was pleased at what he saw and some sessions were excellent – so congratulations to all involved – we are moving in the right direction. He did highlight some things

Voyageur Training Weekend

The Voyageurs group enjoyed a sunny training expedition in Dartmoor. The group undertook the training as part of their Gold DofE expedition section.

The group planned a route which took them over the moors for three days. The moor held some navigation challenges for the group but I am pleased to report they only got misplaced once.The group coped well in the hot weather, the expedition included carrying their kit for three days.

Help us Collect Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers

Great news! Adventure Dolphin is able to collect vouchers for the Active Kids scheme run by Sainsburys.

This isafantastic chance for us to be able to getsome kit and equipment to help our youth clubs, paddling clubs and DofE sessions do more exciting things for more of you.

Some of the things that we are collecting vouchers for includes

DofE will be putting the cost of Welcome Packs up on the 1st April 2011.

Prices will be:

Bronze and Silver – £16.00 each Gold – £22.00

(£2 has been added to cover administration costs)

DofE have realised that the boxes are not practical and are in the process of redesigning the way your assessor can record your achievements. If you would like to be involved please let us know and we’ll pass your name
